Re: Video in the Classroom

Video in the Classroom Introduction from Mathew Needleman on Vimeo.

Those Star Wars kids? Freaking adorable.

Mr. Needleman makes an important observation: the anecdotal evidence here is supported byreading gains, clearly demonstrating the validity and vitality of this tech-centric classroom strategy. A reading curriculum that allows students to develop 21st-century skills such as video production and computer fluency provides vocational and cross-disciplinary advantages. Scriptwriting, enabled by the ease of digital video production, is one more gadget in the ever-crowding, ever-more-futuristic toolbox that enterprising teachers may employ to engage young readers.
